Phlebotomy Workshops

This course is fast paced and targeted towards healthcare workers, CNA, Medical Assistants, or anyone seeking a new career in healthcare. We will provide knowledge and training on how to draw blood using numerous techniques.

The course curriculum teaches:

  • Anatomy & Physiology

  • Medical Terminology

  • Venipuncture

  • Tube Recognition & Order of Draw

  • Professionalism

  • Pre-analytical Complications

  • Capillary Blood draw

  • Specimen Transportation

Phlebotomy In-Service

Phlebotomy In-service provides up to date techniques to healthcare professionals who have not utilized their skills and need a refresher. Students will learn:

  • Vein recognition

  • Order of draw

  • OSHA

  • Pre-analytical Complications

  • Hands-on training

IV Therapy In-Service

IV Therapy In-Service students will learn basic techniques on how to start an IV.

  • Vein recognition

  • Supply set-up

  • Discuss common complications of IV, and their associated signs and symptom

  • Describe and demonstrate the proper techniques and documentation for inserting and removing a peripheral IV or heparin lock

OSHA

Course provides OSHA requirements for training, what bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread, protection against exposure, how to clean an area of exposure, and report an exposure.

SIDS

All adults who provide care for infants 12 months or younger are required to be trained in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) risk reduction practices. The Infant/Toddler Safe Sleep and SIDS Risk Reduction in Child Care (ITS-SIDS) is the approved training. It prepares childcare providers to follow their facility’s safe sleep policy. 

The class can be conducted online or in-person.
